Hamad Int'l Airport Brings Updated Luxury to Qatar & Includes its Own In-House Hotel
The Hamad International Airport (HIA) replaced Doha International Airport this summer as the five-star gateway to Qatar. This is a vital piece of Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which sets out the roadmap for a unique national transition from reliance on petrochemical revenues to a diverse, knowledge-based economy. The new airport can hold 50 million travelers, and will see extensive traffic with the 2022 FIFA World Cup on the horizon. Its 130,000 square feet gives way to combined retail, food and beverage facilities including luxury brands like Bulgari, Chanel, and Chopard. There is also a new airport hotel that holds a first class wellness area with a pool, gym, two squash courts, and a spa.

Eco-Friendly e-Tuks Come To The Palm Resort & Spa in Dubai
During the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia on October 1, the new e-Tuk was unveiled to the masses. Already used around the world, the upgraded version of the three-wheeled rickshaw will now be employed at The Palm Resort & Spa in Dubai as transportation around the property in place of the typical golf cart. Dutch company Tuk Tuk Factory will be delivering the full fleet of electric vehicles to The Palm within the next couple weeks including the e-Tuk Limo for up to six passengers, and the e-Tuk Vendo & Cargo to be used by the housekeeping and kitchen staff. While originally built for conventional street use, their versatility and eco-friendly appeal has quickly gained interest from the luxury hotel industry and are expected to be a fixture at various resorts worldwide.
