Sometimes you just need to get away. Whether you are looking for a weeklong escape or simply need a night away to yourself to recharge, there is nothing quite like a tropical oasis to come to the rescue.

Nestled in a former mango grove along Lake Mangonia, The Belgrove Resort & Spa offers a laid-back, West Indies-inspired vibe. From the swaying palm trees and striped cabanas to a pool deck with butler service and wellness spa offering specialty body treatments, the 150-room retreat’s primary focus is on relaxation.

Part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, The Belgrove offers a variety of rooms to choose from that vary from standard guest accommodations with a golf course view to spacious one-bedroom suites with separate living room and private terrace, perfectly situated overlooking the pool.

Each of the guest rooms here boasts a modern aesthetic with light floors, high ceilings, a blue accent wall, and stylish furnishings. There is even a pillow menu (available for an added cost), allowing guests to choose from a variety of plush offerings, including white goose down, a cooling offering, and memory foam.

When it comes to dining on property, there are five options to choose from, including 24-hour room service.

After checking your car with the friendly valet attendants, if you arrive early and your room isn’t ready just yet, head over to Deep End, the property’s relaxed pool bar, for a tropical cocktail paired up with some light bites (think poke bowls and sushi rolls).

The pool deck here boasts a family-friendly pool along with an adults-only pool surrounded by 16 private cabanas and numerous lounge chairs.

Just steps away, The Spa offers a variety of treatments custom designed for relaxing. Whether you opt for a golden glow body ritual, a 50-minute island serenity massage, or a collagen reset facial, you’ll want to arrive early to linger longer in the relaxation lounge, showers and eucalyptus steam rooms, private saltwater pool and hot tub, and men’s and women’s lounges filled with luxurious amenities.

A weekend dinner reservation at Bacaro, Belgrove’s contemporary Italian alfresco eatery on the poolside veranda that serves up fresh pasta dishes and crispy Napoli pizzas, is a must.

Start off with a Bacio Bellini Spritz made with peach puree paired up with an order of flavorful bruschetta topped with tangy fresh tomatoes, creamy whipped ricotta, and drizzled with a sweet balsamic glaze. The decadently topped, shaved truffle and mushroom pizza with the unique addition of brie cheese was a standout. Heartier dishes include fusilli prawns served in a white wine cream sauce, and their signature rigatoni Bolognese made with Wagyu beef ragu.

Bacaro is only open for dinner Friday through Sunday, but their American brasserie, Society 48, is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Executive Chef Ron Pietruszka’s curated breakfast offerings include the must-try eggs Benedict, an egg white frittata, and a Mangonia passion smoothie.

If you are looking for something light to take with you on the go, stop by the on-site café, FlaminGO, for freshly baked pastries, desserts, smoothies, casual lunch options, and gelato.
