Mudslides Delay Seattle Trains
Transit routes between Seattle and Vancouver are facing a serious delay: the danger of mudslides has put Amtrak's lines on hold at least until Friday. Amtrak is offering a special bus service to make up for the loss of the trains, but until the danger passes, no trains will head north from Seattle. The hold comes after several nearly 15-foot deep slides buried the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks.
