CBS Never heard of Denver's Independence Eve? It's a local tradition that's quickly gaining traction amongst locals and visitors alike. Combining a beautiful fireworks show with a synchronized soundtrack that will blow your mind, Independence Eve is nine whole minutes of the most intense fireworks display you'll ever get a chance to see and one of the few fireworks shows not halted by the rising heat that's dried out the countryside.
The hot, dry weather has many Colorado towns canceling their fireworks displays, but people can still see a great show at the City and County Building on Independence Eve.
It’s nine minutes of fireworks, music and lights that culminates in a spectacular independence celebration.
“There are very few things in the world that you can experience that’s like that,” Larry Darrington with Angel Light Pyrotechnics said.
The experience starts 10 months ahead of time with a computer simulation of the City and County Building and a plan that includes as many as 8,000 shots.
