Image from Facebook Taipei's Summer Jazz Party is one of Taipei's hottest events this season, but news has now broken that the event will include legendary names like Stanely Clarke, David Sanchez and Gonzalo Rubalaca. With names like this it's hard to imagine this event being anything but a major smash, one that you don't want to miss if you can get to Taipei.
The Summer Jazz Party at the National Theater and Concert Hall (NTCH) will showcase four international jazz artists, three of whom are Grammy Award-winning musicians, the NTCH said Tuesday.
The three musicians are American jazz musician and composer Stanley Clarke, who is known for his mastery of double bass and electric bass techniques, Puerto Rican jazz tenor saxophonist David Sanchez and Cuban jazz pianist and composer Gonzalo Rubalcaba, the NTCH said.
American jazz singer Gretchen Parlato, whose 2009 album was hailed by Billboard magazine as "the most alluring jazz vocal album of 2009," will also perform at the annual Summer Jazz Party, to take place in August and September, the NTCH said.
