St. Louis just barely makes it onto The Daily Beast's list of the top 25 Drunkest Cities 2012. While it is not number one (I'm not sure who actually wants to be number one in this case) St. Louis did earn itself a cozy spot at number 23, and I'm sure the population will be willing to drink to that.

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) -  Bottoms up?  We’ve got the breweries, now we have a place on the list of 25 Drunkest Cities of 2012.  On the list, put together by The Daily Beast.com, St. Louis came in at # 23.

They used data on the average number of alcoholic beverages per month, per adult in each metro area. The Daily Best also used data from the CDC on binge drinking and heavy drinkers. The average alcoholic drinks consumed by adults per month was 13.4 according to the study.

Eighteen percent of the population was classified as ‘binge’ drinkers and another 6 percent were classified as ‘heavy’ drinkers.
