St. Louis being home to the 2024 Olympics could be really good for the city. Although it may require a lot of money and work to be put into hosting the Olympics, I believe it could possibly be good for St. Louis. It should bring more attention to the city put it more on the map and with all the tourism from the Olympics; hopefully the city can become more financially secure.

The United States Olympic Committee on Tuesday sent letters to the mayors of 35 American cities, including St. Louis, to find out if they’re interested in bidding for the 2024 games.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay’s communications director, Maggie Crane, told the Business Journal that Slay's office received the letter Friday afternoon.

"We are certainly flattered to be considered to host the 2024 Olympics, but of course, that's a big undertaking," Crane said. "We'll be talking to the CVC next."
