We’ve been waiting on the new Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Los Cabos to open for quite some time now—six years to be exact. First announced back in 2011, the hotel was slated to make its debut in 2014 but as time went by, the luxury brand remained relatively quiet about the property—until last year. Now scheduled to open in late 2017, the five-star resort seems to finally be making its way onto the scene.
Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve property is a $430 million project led by Grupo Questro on 2,000 acres of oceanfront property in Los Cabos. When completed, it will be the brand’s fourth hotel in the Reserve portfolio. The hotel will feature 125 single-storey one-, two- and three-bedroom villas; signature golf courses from both Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman; a world-class marina accommodating yachts up to 400 feet; three miles of private beaches; a private sculpture garden; and a 12-acre cactus botanical park. Guestrooms will also include private plunge pools, outdoor terraces and fire pits.
If simply visiting the property isn’t enough, the hotel will be surrounded by 125 Ritz-Carlton branded residences known as The Enclaves. As a part of the “West Enclave” development, 27-single family homes are being built with prices starting at $4.1 million. Only 12 units remain unsold, and each villa encompasses 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, modern architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows, plus an outdoor living space with a pool, spa, bar, fireplace and BBQ.
Inside, the double kitchen will be outfitted with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances and owners can choose between Encino Oak wood, Douglas Fir hardwood marble and limestone floorings as well as cream marble or black granite countertops. Owners will also have access to a full-time Director of Residences, Experience Ambassadors who can arrange special outings and a separate Owners’ Welcome Center.
In January of this year, the brand announced the second phase of its residence development within The Enclave, which will feature a collection of 60 condominiums scheduled to hit the market in 2018. The residences will sit adjacent to the West Enclave neighborhood, and (similar to the homes) owners will have access to the resort’s amenities as well as a dedicated concierge and à la carte services such as in-home chef services and housekeeping. Reservations for the condos are expected to begin in early second quarter, with a priority interest list already being developed.
