The Changi Museum opened to the public in its new location on February 15, 2001, the same date in 1942 when Singapore surrendered to the Japanese Army. Replacing the Old Changi Prison Chapel and Museum, this new space is dedicated to honoring those who experienced, and died in Singapore during the harshest times in World War II. Their courageous stories are told all around the Museum in hopes of inspiring and influencing the younger generations and bring them closer to their ancestry.
