Travel News: The December 2009 issue of Travel + Leisure magazine ranks the OH Pool Bar + Cabanas at the Hotel Valley Ho as one of the “World’s Coolest Pools”. The Pool is among only fifteen others around the world which made the list, and is the only pool in Arizona featured. Travel + Leisure informs readers about the best food, shopping, entertainment, and accommodations across the globe, and is a valuable resource to the selective traveler.
The review notes the Pool’s unique retro-style furnishings and martini glass design. It also comments on past celebrities who have stayed at the Ho, as well as ones which have performed poolside, including Katy Perry and John Legend.
Other pools listed include the San Alfonso Del Mar Pool in Chile, the Intercontinental Hong Kong Pool in Hong Kong, and Nemo 33 in Brussels.
Oh Pool Bar + Cabanas is located in the center of the Hotel Valley Ho, and is the site of many special events. Steve Nash came here with the Phoenix Suns in 2008 for a private event, and the NBA All-Star T-Mobile Party was held poolside in 2009. The pool features eight private cabanas, including one double cabana, hip pool furniture, a fire pit, water feature, and two Jacuzzis. The bar area also offers table seating and two community seating areas where guests can enjoy lunch and snacks. Each cabana features Brown Jordan furniture, a mirror, private bar, and curtain for privacy. Guests can order drinks and light fare, and can even receive a poolside massage or nail service in their private cabanas.
