Every year from March 1-8, the Phoenix Art Museum holds its annual Devoured Culinary Classic that showcases fine food and drink businesses in the Arizona area, while highlighting the city as an international dining destination. Holding four major events in one week, Devoured consists of a bartending competition, an art show, and two-night Culinary Classic.
The Sixth Annual Devour Phoenix Bartending Competition will be a fight between mixologists from nine of the area’s best restaurants. Drinks will be made using locally-distilled spirits and a total of nine cocktails will be offered up in hopes of winning Devour Phoenix’s Best Cocktail of the Valley for 2015. Guests will be able to sample not only the unique concoctions to be judged, but the spirits that went into making them as well.
The perfect marriage of art and food, Palette to Palate pairs chefs and painters together as they interpret each other’s work. Showing the artistic parallels between these two types of creatives, the event was started by husband and wife team Chef James Porter and previous restaurant owner, Wendy. This year Palette to Palate will be accessible to VIP guests exclusively, and will offer food and fine wine from award-winning regional artists and chefs.
The main event of the week is the two-day Culinary Classic. Over 100 restaurant owners, wine makers, food producers, chefs, distillers and craft beer brewers descend upon Phoenix to present their gastronomic delicacies. Intended to draw attention to the quality food and drink in Arizona, the Culinary Classic offers demonstrations, meet-and-greets, and some of the best food from five-star restaurants, entrepreneurial producers, classically-trained chefs and nationally-acclaimed beer crafters.
If you haven’t already grabbed tickets to the Devoured Culinary Classic, then you’re in luck—but just barely. General admission has already sold out, despite tickets going on sale last Friday, leaving only a small number of VIP tickets left. But, as always, VIP attendance offers some of the best ways to experience the event including early entrance for you and your guests, exclusive wine-tastings, first access to the Quench Fine Wine auction, the opportunity to interact with and directly access internationally-renown chefs and restaurateurs, and access to the private VIP lounge.
