San Diego Events: In celebration of its third decade, Seaport Village in San Diego has announced an unprecedented event that promises to be fun for the whole family. The downtown shopping and entertainment venue will host its first-ever "30 for 30 Carousel Challenge," which dares participants to ride its famous carousel for 30 hours.

The two-day event, scheduled from October 8 to 9, pays tribute to Seaport’s longevity as a San Diego icon. Spectators will have the chance to witness 30 chosen participants as they circle around the carousal for a total of 30 hours. Riding into the night, participants will not only be tested on endurance, but will also be judged on their ability to answer trivia questions. The last participant standing -- or should we say riding -- will be crowned the grand-prize winner.

If watching 30 participants battle it out wasn't entertainment enough, the event also features a full lineup of activities, such as live entertainment, as well as food and beverage specials that last late into the night.

“Over the past 30 years, our Seaport Village management team has strived to make this 14-acre property more than a shopping center, but rather, an entertainment venue that would draw tourists and locals to the village regularly,” said Terry Hall, General Manager.

“As a result, events such as our Spring Busker Festival and Surfing Santa’s Arrival, have gained us national attention; Making us a must-see stop when visiting the area while also enticing thousands of local San Diegans to make us part of their annual traditions.”
