San Diego Events: This weekend hundreds of women will be flaunting their beach bodies in an attempt to create a new world record. Starting at 1:30pm on Sunday, June 27, a bikini parade will be taking place in San Diego’s hottest neighborhood, the Gaslamp District.
Currently, the Gillette Venus® Team holds the Guinness record for the most participants in a bikini parade, with 323 bikini-clad women strutting to the finish line. This weekend the makers of Bikini Week are kicking off the festivities to their five-day event that starts June 30, by “celebrating the art and lifestyle of swimwear”… a very appropriate celebration for sun and fun-loving San Diegans.

The parade will begin at the Hard Rock in the “Legends Ballroom,” and will encompass about an hour, so be sure to be there by 1:30 sharp to witness history in the making. Ladies, if you want to participate, you will need to be in the ballroom by 11am. After the conclusion of the parade, the fun does not stop, an after party will be held at Hard Rock's Intervention, downtown’s hottest pool party.
Of course this only the beginning of what is shaping up to be one of the best events in San Diego, the second annual Bikini Week will kick off this Wednesday at one of the newest clubs in the Gaslamp, FLUXX. Be prepared for back-to-back parties and runway shows showcasing the most fashionable swimwear designers in LA and SD. The following evenings will take place at Stingaree, the Ivy Rooftop at ANDAZ and an all-day event on Saturday at Hard Rock’s Float. The entire celebration will culminate as the makers of Bikini Week are turning the Horton Event Space into an indoor beach. Grab your tickets now; everyone will be talking about these steamy nights and exciting days for the rest of the year.
The best part of Bikini Week is that a portion of all ticket proceeds will go to benefit Global Flying Hospitals, a charity that builds temporary hospitals around the world to provide medical care to those that may not otherwise receive it.
