Soon Philadelphia residents will be saying hello to a new $450 million casino in the city’s Stadium District. Located at 900 Packer Avenue, the project was first awarded a gaming license in late 2014 but is finally now being developed by The Cordish Companies and Parx Casino. The privately financed property will feature a Las Vegas-style casino floor with over 125 table games, more than 2,000 slot machines and live entertainment venues.
Live! Hotel and Casino - Stadium Casino, LLC will boast over 200 upscale rooms, a conference center and a number of restaurants ranging from high-end venues to a diner concept and a celebrity chef eatery. Situated next to Philadelphia Sports Complex, the property is already projecting becoming a major hub for tourists visiting the complex. The resort’s opening will also help out the city financially, with early estimates seeing it generating over $2 billion in economic stimulus along with $100 million in tax revenues. As of publication, no opening dates have been announced, so for now we will wait patiently and work on strengthening our poker skills.
