Initially, the Hilton Paris Opera opened as the Grand Hotel Terminus in 1889, welcoming in European visitors to the Exposition Universelle. And today, over a century later, the property is still attracting affluent travelers thanks to its quality service, chic rooms and prime location. This year, the hotel underwent a $50 million renovation to bring it back to its former glory while still incorporating just the right amount of contemporary elements to its interiors.
The historical centerpiece of the hotel is Le Grand Salon which boasts 46-foot high ceilings, hand-painted frescos, Corinthian colonnades and the building's original balustrades. It is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of work or shopping, to gather with friends or work colleagues and to soak in the grandeur of Paris' Golden Age as is reflected in the golden hues and crystal lighting of Le Grand Salon.
The Hilton Paris Opera has 268 rooms, 29 of which are suites, and all rooms come with complimentary Wi-Fi. The elegant 900-square-foot Maria Callas suite features a spacious living room with a Paris Hausmann-style ceiling, a master bedroom with king-sized bed, and a second bedroom with two twin beds and private bath. Some of the suites also include a private French balcony, and all come with Nespresso machines and full-size bath amenities. These suites, along with the Executive rooms, offer access to the Executive Lounge which is open throughout the day for aperitifs and snacks.
To attract the seasoned business traveler, the Hilton Paris Opera has six meeting rooms that feature natural daylight and a stunning Baccarat ballroom complete with vintage chandeliers from the famous crystal maker that can accommodate 180 guests. If the impressive size of Le Grand Salon or the buzzing buffet breakfast room is not quite your speed, head over to Le Pain Quotidien or Le Petit Bar for your meals. The organic restaurant seats 80 people and marks the first Le Pain Quotidien to ever be located within a hotel.
Situated in the heart of the Right Bank's Opera district, the Hilton Paris Opera is also a great home base for travelers looking to spend their time scoping out the city’s best shopping destinations. The property is less than a five minute walk from Galeries Lafayette, Le Printemps and nearby to Passage Du Havre mall and the famed Rue De Caumartin.
