Scott Gerber and his company Gerber Group have just opened a stunning bar/lounge with outdoor terrace atop the chic new Viceroy New York on West 57th St. The Roof supplements Kingside, the hotel’s street-level bar and restaurant, with a world-class nightlife experience boasting incredible city and Central Park views. The space’s designers Roman and Williams evoked the interior of a classic luxury airliner with exotic ipe wood flooring, tropical Iroko wood paneling, walnut ceilings, leather sofas, nautical brass details and curated images of sky, sea and clouds by famed photographer Dalton Portella.
The Roof’s outdoor terrace will be open year round thanks to heat lamps and wool blankets making it a warm and luxurious respite no matter what the weather. The drinks menu features an expansive collection of small-batch spirits, regionally brewed craft beers, global wine offerings and a selection of classic and modern cocktails including house specialties highlighting market fresh ingredients. Small plates from Kingside will be available to munch on, including a burger with house-made American cheese, pickles and special sauce, a charcuterie board and a grilled three-cheese sandwich.
“Following the success of our bar and restaurant Kingside, we are excited to introduce The Roof at Viceroy New York,” notes Scott Gerber, Rande’s brother and Principal and CEO of Gerber Group. “With incredible views of Central Park, a luxurious aesthetic and great cocktails, The Roof is bound to become one of the best year-round destinations in Midtown.”
“Top it off with the most inspiring, not to mention romantic, view of the city you can imagine,” adds Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch of Roman and Williams. “This is the perfect spot to take in New York’s energy from a luxurious perch.”
