This year marked the 7th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic held on May 31, 2014. The event was sold out in minutes, but here are some of the reasons you should have made it your priority to be in attendance.
The Fashion
Veuve Clicquot Champagne inspires the world to “Be Clicquot," and fans came from all over for the outdoor summertime event. Attendees were dressed to the nines in polo-ready designer duds. Everything from pretty pastels to nautical themes to trend-setting-only-seen-in-NYC getups were worn.
The Champagne
Flowing bottles of bubbly is never a bad thing, especially from Veuve Clicquot. Three Champagne bars were in full service, offering the esteemed brand’s beverage by the bottle or glass.
The Weather
New Yorkers deal with cold weather and snow all winter, and muggy heat in the dead of summer. Spring is the perfect time to head outdoors and enjoy the weather and slight breezes.
The View
You have horses, sexy polo players (like Polo Player/Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras) and members of both sexes dressed to the tee. Your backdrops are blue waters, the Manhattan skyline and The Statue of Lady Liberty. And with the urban oasis of Liberty State Park, with its gorgeous two-mile waterfront walkway along the Hudson River, what’s not to like?
To Give Back
Part of the proceeds raised goes to City Harvest, a charity that helps feed over 2 million New Yorkers annually.
The Swag
Where else can you score a trademarked yellow Veuve Clicquot umbrella, sunglasses and a Champagne holder all in one afternoon?
