The Carlyle, may be best known for its grown-up luxuries, but now it also has something special for the children. This month the famed hotel announced a new partnership with acclaimed children’s author Kelly Florio Kasouf. Kasouf is the talent behind the top-selling book series, The Super Adventures of Sophie and The City. The property will offer two guest room packages that allow families (especially their youngest members) to experience New York through the inquisitive and imaginative eyes of Sophie. Giovanni Beretta, Managing Director of The Carlyle said, “We’re thrilled to bring Sophie’s world to life and offer our smallest guests a whimsical and memorable experience during their visit to Manhattan.”
The two packages, dubbed “The Sophie Experience,” ($540 for a classic guestroom; $645 for a suite) and “The Super Sophie Experience” ($835, $1035) both invite guests to take a tour of the character’s favorite New York City spots. Guests are welcomed with signed copies of The Super Adventures of Sophie and The City: All In A Day’s Work and Kasouf’s latest book, Grand Central Escapades. Visitors will also find a specially designed treat from Magnolia Bakery waiting in their rooms. Accommodations feature an exclusively designed boudoir pillow by Matouk and an iPad mini to use during the stay, making it easier to follow Sophie’s adventures throughout the city.
Über-fashionable young guests may wish to book the “Super Sophie Experience,” which in addition to the above amenities, also includes accommodation in the City charm suite, a special dress designed by Oscar de la Renta and a Lulu Frost cameo necklace to bring home after their Manhattan adventure. “Our little Sophie couldn’t imagine a more magical and fantastical place to be than The Carlyle,” says author Kelly Florio Kasouf. “After one step onto the gleaming black and white marbled floors and gazing at the Art Deco chandeliers, we knew this was the perfect home for our Sophie…it is a true gem any little girl could pretend was her own little paradise in New York City.”
