Chef Charlie Palmer will host the first annual Oyster Social at One Bryant Park on Sunday, September 23 at his flagship restaurant, Aureole. The event will be a benefit for Citymeals-On-Wheels, a non-profit organization that delivers meals to the homebound elderly throughout the five boroughs of New York City. As a long time board member of Citymeals-on-Wheels, Chef Palmer shares, “I am extremely impressed by how efficiently this program is run. It is comforting to know that all donations to Citymeals-on-Wheels go directly to the preparation and delivery of the meals for those in need.”
Last year, the organization underwrote the preparation and delivery of 1.8 million meals to the elderly, all of which were provided by private donations. The Oyster Social will take place at Aureole’s outdoor Plaza from noon to 4 pm. Guests will enjoy limitless oysters and other seafood creations prepared by the restaurant, paired with Complexity New Zealand Find Wines, Purity Vodka Bloody Marys, Sierra Nevada beer and Louis Roederer champagne.
