Louie Bossi’s Ristorante Bar Pizzeria set out to transform Boca Raton’s dining scene when it opened up at the Hyatt Place Boca Raton/Downtown back in 2017.
Since then, the sprawling restaurant has done just that, becoming a prominent and popular fixture at the corner of East Palmetto Park Road and North Federal Highway.
So, what's all the continued buzz? Simply stated, it's just that good.
Whether you come here to enjoy Happy Hour at the enormous bar while noshing on half-priced pizzas and sipping on drink specials; Martini Mondays for half off all martinis; or the weekend Bottomless Brunch, the restaurant offers something for everyone.
An enormous main dining room provides a buzzy energy each night. For a quieter, more intimate experience, request a table on the patio for alfresco dining or in the smaller dining area near the bar with sumptuous booths, leather chairs, and fireplace.
One of the main reasons Louie Bossi’s stands out is the restaurant prides itself on being an Italian scratch kitchen. All of the pasta, bread, gelatos, pastries, and cookies are made in-house daily.
The restaurant’s rustic interior features brick floors, exposed wood ceilings, and black and white photos lining the walls. Friendly and attentive servers can be spotted throughout the dining rooms ensuring diners’ water glasses remain full and plates are timely cleared.
We recommend starting off with one of their specialty cocktails like a refreshing limoncello spritz or a glass of wine from their impressive collection. Pair it up with a sampling of house-cured salumi or the simply prepared, wood-grilled bruschetta topped with fresh tomatoes and basil.
Keep an eye out for daily specials that include everything from eggplant alla parmigiana to lasagna. The menu here is extensive, so you will want to be sure to pace yourself.
A selection of Apertivi includes Marcona almonds roasted with sea salt, arancini con tartufo, and Parmigiano Reggiano. There is a nice offering of familiar salads like Caesar and Caprese, along with specialty finds, including Torn Burrata; Tricolore & Pear; and Charred Strawberry Kale.
The meatballs here are an absolute must-try dish for the table, simply prepared in a tangy San Marzano sauce, but oh so tasty that you may not want to share. Warm sliced bread, offering the perfect balance of soft and crusty, is perfect for mopping up every last bit of sauce.
Moving right along, the Gamberoni Alla Genovese is another standout.
Wood-grilled shrimp tossed in olive oil with basil, garlic and chilis is served atop grilled crostini for extra flavor.
A visit to Louie Bossi’s would be remiss without trying one of their signature wood-grilled Neapolitan-style pizzas.
There is every topping imaginable from fennel sausage, house made pancetta, and prosciutto di parma to white anchovies, arugula, and speck.
The flavor filled Funghi Misti Pizza is topped with wild mushroom, smoked bufala mozzarella, parmigiano Reggiano and truffle oil.
Rounding out the dinner menu is a selection of long pasta (think cacio e pepe, bucatini, and linguine frutti di mare) and short pasta offerings (think shrimp risotto with mushrooms; ravioli topped with prosciutto; and Pazzesco served with sausage, meatballs, and pork ragu).
Be sure to try the perfectly al dente Rigatoni served in a rich Bolognese sauce made with braised beef and veal.
If you can save room for dessert (and you should), the tiramisu offers a light and creamy end to a memorable dining experience.
Louie Bossi’s Ristorante Bar Pizzeria is located at 100 East Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton, Florida.
