If you're hungry, look away, because these photos from Marieta in Madrid are definitely going to be tough on an empty stomach. Though the eatery opened this summer, it's still pretty fresh to the city’s bustling restaurant scene.
Influenced by a variety of famous cities, like London and New York City, Marieta uses various materials to give off different looks. Carefully chosen plants, furniture, and lighting are used to contrast with elements like the metal meshing used against the back wall. The layout features platforms and differing heights, two fireplaces, bench-style seating, several bars, and a kitchen with a center island that allows guests to watch their meals being cooked.
Now, the menu, which is why you're really here. Leaning a little heavily towards the Mediterranean, the menu offers international cuisine with dishes like calamari sushi, octopus, and veal. Of course, there's dessert, which ranges from simple cheesecake to an ice cream sandwich with stracciatella that looks nothing like the American chocolate chip version we ate as kids.
