I visited the salon in Studio City for my first sugar hair removal treatment and air spray tan. The small space was clean and inviting.
First I received a sugar hair removal treatment on my upper lip. The sugaring process is all-natural and has only three ingredients, sugar, lemon juice and water. It is much gentler on skin then traditional waxing or threading and leaves no damage or scarring. Sugaring removes hair from the natural direction of growth and is more likely to prevent ingrown hairs than traditional waxing. My lip treatment took 10 minutes, and I walked away with smooth hair free skin.
The spray tan rooms are large and resemble bathrooms with a space to undress and a shower area. Guests first choose their level of tan (1 -4, 4 being darkest, from subtle glow to deep bronze) and then put barrier cream on elbows and heels. The technician then sprayed my entire body until the desired tan shade and then I dried myself with a drying hose. I was then instructed to shower 3.5 hours later with only water. After 24 hours guests can shower with soap.
I was then provided a range of aftercare products including tinted mineral sunscreen to protect against UV exposure with a hint of bronzer and creamy shea butter; sunless tanning lotion to nourish skin and provide a natural looking tan and extend my spray tan and sunless tanning water to give skin on-the-go glow.
