Developer Enstar Capital has just announced the completion of the multi-million dollar office remodel at 54 Brooks Mews in London’s Mayfair district. The new space covers two floors, a total of 6,000 square feet, and is priced at £1.25 million (approx. $1.93 million USD) for a five-year lease—the most expensive commercial property seen in Mayfair or the West End. The announcement comes at the end of a 16 month and £4 million ($6.17 million USD) renovation completed by Enstar Capital and architects Stiff & Trevillion.
Aimed at billionaire investors, the interiors were outfitted with some of the most luxurious amenities seen in a modern office building. Using the 1930s Art Deco period for inspiration, the office includes a Statuario Michelangelo marble stairwell, brass detailing and hardwood floors imported from a 16th century monastery in Tuscany. Using a food lift, meals, snacks and even Champagne from the famous La Petite Maison, which resides on the ground floor, can be delivered to the office. But the pièce de résistance are the Armani-inspired gold-plated bathrooms that are covered in floor-to-ceiling gold mosaics, marble sinks and floors, and mirrored washbasins with water, soap dispensers and hand drying facilities.
“Offices should be as good as homes. Local business people think nothing of spending £5 million to £100 million on a Mayfair home or spending hundreds of pounds per square feet fitting it out, yet will work nearby in offices that are nowhere near the standard of luxury or quality,” Simon Lyons, the joint chief executive of Enstar Capital, said in a statement. “People spend a third of their lives at work, so this is why we have fitted these premises out to a luxury-residential finish. Gold Armani washrooms, automatic lighting, luxury flooring and in-office restaurant dining—it’s the best office in Mayfair.”
