Calling all fashionistas! Trendy Carnaby Street in the heart of London is hosting its bustling fashion event next month. More than 100 stores, bars and restaurants will be taking part in the evening extravaganza on Thursday, May 2, making it the biggest event of its kind in the capital.
For four hours, from 5 p.m.-9 p.m., the 13 streets of Carnaby will come alive, showcasing the best of what’s on offer at this vibrant shopping destination, including The Kooples, Monki, American Apparel and Levi’s Vintage. Independent boutiques, one-off concept stores, trendy restaurants, and funky bars will be opening their doors as well, offering not-to-be-missed bargains and promotions.
Visitors can also choose to get involved in free activities, special experiences and beauty treats throughout the night, while snapping up some exclusive goodies from global fashion brands which have their only UK store in Carnaby. And there will be free cocktails at the pop-up bar in Kingly Court, tastings at Sutra Kitchen, free cupcakes at Johnny Cupcakes, prize drawings and goodie bags.
Grazia’s Fashion News and Features Editor Katherine Ormerod will be hosting inspirational trend talks, with all the best fashion tips for the summer and top picks from Carnaby stores.
A spokesman for the event told JustLuxe.com: “This will be a great event for people to enjoy money-can’t-buy experiences, with fantastic offers and activities in the fun atmosphere of Carnaby.”
DJs will be pumping out the hottest tunes from Pretty Green, Flying Horse Jeans and Fourth and Main, while there will be live music booming from Lambretta. Snap-happy shoppers can also take part in an Instagram shoot, with a makeover and styling session, and earn themselves a place on the Carnaby Instagram hall of fame. Feeling vintage? Don’t miss the Gatsby-themed party hosted by Revival Retro.
Wannabe models should walk around looking their best, as Carnaby Street has teamed up with Premier Model Management, whose scouts will be hosting a Q&A session about what they search for in a model.
