For five days in May, the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, will be transformed into the spectacular gardens and floral displays that make up the world’s most famous flower show—an event that has been running for almost a century. This year’s 16 show gardens will be created by some of the finest contemporary designers including 2011 Best Show Garden winner Cleve West for Brewin Dolphin, Andy Sturgeon designing for show sponsor M&G Investments, and Joe Swift for Homebase.
The show gardens will whisk visitors away around the world to Australia, Italy, Corsica and Korea. RHS Chelsea Flower Show Manager, Alex Denman, said “We are thrilled to welcome back some of the world’s best garden designers. We look forward to the best Chelsea ever in the summer that we celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of our Patron, HM The Queen.”
This summer’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show will be honoring the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. On display will be photographs of Her Majesty’s 48 visits to the event. The RHS has also commissioned a large floral bedding scheme designed by the Parish of St Helier, Jersey.
The 99th RHS Chelsea Flower Show takes place on the grounds of the Royal Hospital, from Tuesday May 22 – Saturday May 26. For more information visit RHS.org.uk.
