Recently celebrity Chef Roy Choi and writer, director, and actor Jon Favreau united at Park MGM in Las Vegas to launch The Chef Truck.
It brings to life the culinary friendship that began with the hit movie 'Chef' that continues in the popular Netflix series "The Chef Show."
Hotel guests and visitors of the Park MGM can now visit The Chef Truck to taste the dishes popular on the shows. “For ten years, Jon has been asking me to open a restaurant together and I have always said ‘no’. I know how tough running a restaurant can be and I didn’t want to risk it getting in the way of our friendship. But with Park MGM as our partner, I knew it was finally time to complete the trilogy. We started with the Chef movie, then came the Chef Show and now, The Chef Truck. It all feels right, and we hope everyone loves it!” said Choi.
“Opening a restaurant with Chef Roy Choi is something I’ve been hoping to do since we first worked together. Over the past decade we’ve collaborated on pop ups and now we have a permanent home where people can finally taste the food we’ve been cooking together,” adds Favreau.
Park MGM Vice President of Food & Beverage Josef Wagner said, “Roy and Jon are powerhouses in their respective fields, so when you have them unite to execute a concept, they go all in, from research and development to design and execution. Park MGM guests and visitors are in for a very special treat when they visit The Chef Truck.”
Located near the resort’s lively casino floor, this is Chef Choi’s second concept in Las Vegas. His first a Korean BBQ concept Best Friend, opened at Park MGM in December 2018, bringing the food truck icon’s remixed and remastered interpretation of Los Angeles to The Strip.
The Chef Truck dishes up signature items from the big screen, including the Cubano, a grilled cheese sandwich and the famous chocolate lava cake. New collaborations from Choi and Favreau are featured on the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, including an array of vegetarian options.
