This month Nightclub & Bar Media Group released their annual list of 100 highest-grossing nightclubs in the United States—and, no surprise—Las Vegas spots took over seven of the top 10 slots. Grossing a total of more than $418 million in revenue between them, these seven are sitting pretty as leaders in the industry. From $10,000 cocktails to multi-level dance floors, there’s a reason these are some of the best venues in the country.
XS Nightclub at the Encore is topping the list for its third consecutive year, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be knocked off its throne any time soon. With $103-105 million in revenue, this club lives up to its name with lavish excess. Guests can dance ‘till dawn in 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space outfitted with golden chandeliers, crocodile-embossed leather and mirrored mosaics. VIP tables are available both near the dance floor and at poolside cabanas. Sip on the club’s signature Ono cocktail—a $10,000 mix of Charles Heidsieck Champagne Charlie 1981 and Louis XIII de Remy Martin Black Pearl cognac.
Hakkasan came somewhere out of left field. Last year the club had an honorable mention, and this year they broke into the Top 100 at the number two spot. Not bad. Bringing in $100-103 million, Hakkasan (and XS) broke the $100 million mark, record-breaking numbers for the American nightlife industry. With three levels, this venue offers custom DJ booths (hosting some of the biggest names in music), a suspended performance platform, dance floor VIP areas, several lounges and private rooms with “customizable screens, coolers, sound control and mixology supplies.” The world-renowned DJ Calvin Harris also just signed a three-year residency with the global hospitality group.
Marquee Las Vegas came in third place with with $80-85 million in revenue. The 60,000-square-foot, multi-space nightclub features areas for dancing, lounging poolside and even offers views of the strip if your alcohol-laden stomach can handle the heights. In The Library, guest can hang out away from the dance floor, while The Boombox offers wall-to-wall dancing and a 360-degree bar.
Fourth on the list is TAO Las Vegas. While their revenue drops steeply to only $50-55 million, this nightclub has been a must-visit for Vegas party-goers for almost a decade, so clearly they have some staying power. The Asian-styled club blends both the beauty of the orient and the sparkle of Vegas,and of course, their famous rose-laden bathtub girls. A large stone Buddha sits front and center and the nightclub is split into two areas, the dance floor and The Opium Lounge. Here, low-key guests can enjoy a mellow lounge area, bar and DJ booth.
Surrender Nightclub, Hyde Bellagio and LAVO Las Vegas round out the last of the top Vegas hotspots raking in $45-40 million, $25-30 million and $20-25 million, respectively. Sure, this list is intended to be a who's-who of the biggest nightclub moneymakers, but personally, we just see this as an itinerary for our next weekend in Vegas.
