The Magnificent Mile is the destination of one of the nation’s premiere luxury shopping festivals that is returning to Chicago between August 24 and September 6, 2012. Sponsored by MasterCard, the event occurs along a 13 mile block stretch that runs from Chicago’s Michigan Avenue to the banks of the Chicago River, featuring hundreds of high end shopping, restaurants, hotels, and attractions. To kick off the celebration, celeb Kelly Osbourne, famous for her fashion correspondence on E!, will arrive for an exclusive meet-and-greet in the MasterCard Priceless Lounge.
The fourteen day event will feature a full calendar of festivities including an outdoor fashion show, which will be hosted by Osbourne with the help of Michigan Avenue stores as fall’s most wanted looks are showcased. Labor Day weekend on The Mile will feature gourmet food presentations at The Signature Room at the 95th, ZED451, Markethouse, and The Peninsula Chicago as well as culinary retail stores like Crate & Barrel. Music from Ross Lynch and a glamorous soiree celebration for Fashion’s Night Out will help conclude the fourteen day extravaganza.
During The Magnificent Mile, MasterCard holders will be given VIP treatment including trolley transport, exclusive access to celebrity meet and greets, giveaways, and more. Other special events during The Magnificent Mile feature a special pet brunch hosted by Argent Restaurant and Raw Bar (August 26), “A Magnificent Taste,” outdoor culinary preview with Top Chef winner Paul Qui (August 28), and cocktail party at the Hotel Monaco Chicago (August 29).
