Bostonians can always think of a good reason to go out and celebrate and this Wednesday will be no exception, but it will be extra special.
To celebrate National Cheeseburger Day on September 18, here are some great excuses to indulge in one of the country’s most popular foods.
Below, we have rounded up some of our favorite spots to overindulge and honor America’s favorite sandwich this week.
At The Capital Grille, diners can celebrate their favorite foodie holiday not only on Wednesday, but for two months. Running now through November 1, guests can enjoy their popular Wagyu & Wine pairing where you can choose among three gourmet burgers paired up with three Duckhorn Portfolio Reds served by the glass.
Each Wagyu & Wine offering is accompanied by a side of duck fat sea salt fries along with suggested wine pairings that include:
The Capital Grille’s Wagyu Cheeseburger layered with grilled onions, steak sauce and Vermont white cheddar cheese
Suggested Pairing: Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Merlot
Wagyu Blue Cheese and Black Truffle Burger topped with cabernet-braised red onions
Suggested Pairing: Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Wagyu Roasted Wild Mushroom and Swiss Burger layered with roasted shiitake, Jarlsberg cheese and truffle aioli
Suggested Pairing: Migration Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
For the ultimate indulgence during Wagyu & Wine, guests can opt to upgrade their fries to Chips & Caviar, a decadent caramelized onion and caviar dip served with housemade chips.
Over on Newbury Street, The Capital Burger might be one of the top spots to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day. From a roasted wild mushroom and Swiss topped burger with 15-year aged balsamic vinegar, Jarlsberg Swiss and truffle aioli to a blue cheese and truffle burger with cabernet braised red onions, the entire menu here is dedicated to the elevated burger experience. Their burgers are crafted from a proprietary beef blend and are accompanied by a side of sea salt fries. Pair it up with a hand-spun boozy shake or award-winning wine for an unforgettable dining experience for either lunch or dinner.
Not too far from Back Bay, Kristin Jenkins features a signature 1928 burger with American cheese, pickles, and aioli served up with a side of French fries at her speakeasy-style 1928 Beacon Hill restaurant.
Over on Atlantic Wharf, Smith & Wollensky offers their signature Wollensky’s Butcher Burger topped with applewood smoked bacon, aged cheddar, and steak sauce mayo served with hand-cut French fries, cole slaw, and house-made pickles. There is also a Truffle Burger topped with portabello mushrooms, Gruyere cheese and black truffle aioli.
In the Seaport District, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse has their famous Del’s Cheeseburger on the menu served on a brioche bun topped with aged sharp cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles accompanied by a side of French fries, skillet chips or a side salad for those looking to trim calories.
