Some go to Atlantic City to party, while others visit for the high-stakes poker tables. The best, no-limit games can be found both on and off the Boardwalk, but you have to know where to look. Casual tables can be found anywhere, but for the serious players and students of the game, these high-roller poker rooms are your best bet.
Borgata Poker Room
This one seems like a no brainer. The Borgata is home to the largest poker venue in Atlantic City and offers various games for play including Hold ’Em, Seven-Card Stud, Omaha and HOSE. Limit games start at $20 and run all the way up to $600 in the high-stakes areas. Sit & Go is played at various levels throughout the day, and twice-a-day, no limit, in-house Hold ‘Em tournaments are held. World Poker Tournaments are also held on site and there are almost 90 tables so everyone—from first time novices to the sharks—can play.
Trump Taj Mahal
On the Boardwalk, across from the Steel Pier, sits the Trump Taj Mahal. Catering to casual vacationers and poker aficionados alike, this casino offers over 80 tables, many of which are used exclusively for Stud and Omaha. Considered to be a gambler’s casino, the poker room here tops the list as a favorite for many gamers. Limits can start at $1 for Hold ‘Em and climb to $150 for Seven-Card Stud. Tournaments are also held here daily.
Ballys
For the best high-stakes action, head to Ballys where Billy’s Poker Room and the Wild Wild West Poker Room offers no-limit tournaments and multi-lever poker games. While the Wild Wild West Room is used specifically for tournaments, Billy’s offers 20 tables split between Hold ‘Em, Seven-Card Stud, Caribbean Stud, Asia Poker and many others. Ballys’ offerings many not be as large as its neighbors’, but it makes up for it in numbers of sheer, no-limit games. Sit & Go is played every two hours, and tournaments are held throughout the day.
Harrah’s
Another favorite of high-profile gamers, the poker room at Harrah's offers over 20 tables dedicated to limit and no limit Texas Hold ‘Em, Flop Poker, Three and Four Card Poker and Let It Ride. While this room isn’t located on the Boardwalk, it’s close and doesn’t feel too far away from the city’s action. Harrah’s is also known for their tournaments, from the World Series of Poker to No Limit events with $1,675 buy-ins.
Tropicana
The Trop Poker Club is one of the largest in the city and of its 43 tables, 19 are dedicated to poker. A variety of games including Three and Four Card Poker, Texas Hold ‘Em, Let It Ride and Caribbean Stud Poker are available. High rollers are also welcome to reserve private VIP tables and play customized poker games. No limit tournaments are also held daily and Sit & Go is played throughout the week. Their cash back and comps are also some of the best in the city, so everyone is a winner.
