Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City knows how to put on a great show. For the past 11 years, the luxury hotel has been entertaining guests and locals with world-class musical acts and superstar DJs at their venues. Last week, the property announced their plans for two more additional entertainment sites: an outdoor festival grounds and a state-of-art nightclub.
"We are thrilled with the opportunity to enhance and grow our already tremendous entertainment offerings through funding by the CRDA and a wonderful partnership with Live Nation," said Tom Ballance, President and Chief Operating Officer for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. "Upon our entry into the market in 2003, Borgata set the bar for entertainment and nightlife in Atlantic City, so it is only appropriate that we raise it yet again with the addition of these two substantial projects."
With the help of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), Borgata will utilize approximately $14 million of its current and future funds to partially pay for the development and construction of the two new sites. Due to its partnership with Live Nation Philadelphia, Borgata has been able to bring names such as The Who, David Bowie, Sting, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, Imagine Dragons, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Rihanna to the Jersey Shore.
Calling their outdoor venue Borgata Festival Park, the inaugural concert is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 13 for an all-day celebration. From summer to fall, the park will play host to well-known performers (lineup coming later in March), EDM parties and food and beverage festivals.
The new nightlife experience is projected to open at the end of this year and will be designed by the New York City architectural firm of Josh Held Design whose past projects have included Marquee Nightclub in New York, TAO Restaurant and Nightclub in Las Vegas and Voyeur Nightclub in LA.
