One of the first luxury hotels we ever fell for was a St. Regis property, and for good reason. There’s no denying the brand’s star power in today’s white-glove industry. Year-after-year, its growing portfolio continues to gain recognition among the world’s best five-star properties. Taking its seat amongst its 55 sister hotels across the globe, The St. Regis Atlanta is a yet another elegant example of how nice the good life really is.
Located in the upscale Buckhead neighborhood—one of Georgia’s most well-heeled addresses—the hotel offers a more residential feel rather than uninviting big-brand property. Inside, the lobby glistens with shimmering chandeliers, grand double staircases and $1 million worth of artwork from famous locals such as Hank Aaron, Margaret Mitchell and Bobby Jones. Boasting its own library designed with dark hardwoods and filled with a mass of books, you almost get the sense you’re walking through a former estate.
Dressed in neutral color palettes, soft pink hues and crisp white lines, the 151 guestrooms exude a sense of serenity from the moment you arrive. All accommodations come with French-style décor, handcrafted chandeliers, feather pillows and duvets, floor-to-ceiling windows and some feature private balconies overlooking the Pool Piazza or Grand Terrace. Possibly the best space in each room, the chic bathrooms include Remède bath products, white marble vanities, rainfall showers and comfy robes.
Among its seven categories, the four suite tiers range between 680 square feet to 2,800 square feet. Each of the 19 St. Regis Suites (1,000 square feet) come with a living room and the option to add on a second bedroom. Crown moldings, Macassar ebony furnishings, plush seating, writing desk, original artwork and a dining table all create that warm, homey feel. The grand bathroom with double vanity includes a deep soaking garden tub, which pairs nicely with a chilled bottle of Champagne.
Just outside, the 40,000-square-foot Pool Piazza is a haven for sun-seekers with candy cane-striped cushioned lounge chairs under cherry red umbrellas next to the 1,500-square-foot pool. While lounging, enjoy a cocktail or cuddle up next to the stone fireplace on cool nights with a glass of wine. Nearby, guests can also play a round of table tennis or participate in bocce ball on the hotel’s Grand Terrace.
Popular amongst visitors and locals alike, the expansive Remède Spa which uses only the highest quality ingredients in their treatments, leaving guests feeling like new. With 10 treatment rooms, there are plenty of reasons to spend a full day pampering yourself with massages, facials and body treatments. Every therapy is also customized to fit your needs and ensure your ultimate comfort.
When you’re not taking a dip in the pool or receiving a hydrating facial, stop into one of the resort’s three dining venues. Astor Court serves casual fare throughout the day while the Poolside Café & Bar dishes out classic and Southern specialties. However, the hotel’s shining gem is Atlas Buckhead developed by Atlanta chef and restaurateur Gerry Klaskala and the Tavistock Group. The dinner-only establishment celebrates seasonal American fare with a European touch. Expect dishes such as 35-Day, Dry-Aged Eyed Rib Eye; Lemon Sole Picatta; and Blue Ridge Trout with miso-glazed oyster and shiitake mushrooms, chanterelle duxelle, mushroom essence, velvet piopinni, broccoli tips and new potatoes.
Although you may wish to never leave the property, the St. Regis’ prime location puts you in the heart of Buckhead's charming oak-tree lined streets filled with unrivaled shopping and dining experiences. Meander through stately Georgian homes and mansions before embarking on a day of sight-seeing at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the King Center, Atlanta History Center, CNN Headquarters or the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. All are accessible from the hotel.
Before setting out, be sure to have a St. Regis Butler arrange any transportation or ticket needs ahead of time. Service such as this and accommodations rich with understated opulence are just a few of the reasons why guests return to the St. Regis Atlanta each year.
