The Ritz Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia probably won’t see much snow this year, but that doesn’t keep them from celebrating the winter season in style. In addition to decorating the grounds in holiday fashion, the hotel seeks to make everyone feel the joy with extra recreational options to make the season brighter. The AAA, five diamond, luxury resort offers a number of holiday themed activities, events and dining opportunities.
Aside from the Segway and train tours, the resort also offers ice skating, which is available unlimited with certain holiday packages. If you have always wanted to make a gingerbread house, but never found the time, perhaps your vacation at the Ritz is the perfect opportunity. The hotel offers a $60 workshop to make your very own edible mini-house. Instead of going to all of that trouble though, you may just want to view the Linger Longer Express Gingerbread Train Station display that the resort’s expert pastry chefs create every year.
The lodge is located on Reynolds Plantation around Lake Oconee, and during the months of November and December, the staff decorates the grounds in holiday fashion for resort guests to admire. The hotel also offers opportunities to view the grounds in luxury, with the Linger Longer Express Train meandering its way around the grounds with jovial travelers peering out the sides trying to catch a glimpse of Santa or his reindeer. Also in the spirit of Christmas, the hotel offers Segway tours as usual, but this time with holiday themed machinery.
If you are hoping to have a little spa time and the nanny is missing, the hotel offers numerous activities to distract the kids. They offer an Elf-run craft night for $75. Later, when all is quiet throughout the house, the elves will proffer their tuck-in and bedtime story services with milk and cookies included. The Hotel also has a few dining options available during the holidays, including on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Saturday mornings in December, The Ballroom even serves a Pajama Breakfast with Santa and his elves.
