Neerman & Partners is used to crafting solutions for transport needs, so they put their 45 years of experience to the task of personal mobility and came up with the eco-friendly johanson3.
Called a cargo bike, the johanson3 is able to carry two people and boasts a payload of 660 pounds. The driver can either sit or stand in a lean-back position, which the company hopes will make easier for those wearing skirts and dresses. When standing, the driver can shift their weight to make the bike tilt into turns, a feature which can be customized to determine the severity of the tilt. For the person sitting in the back, there are handles to keep hold of. If you don’t plan on driving someone around, you can opt to have cargo boxes installed in the back.
The johanson3 is powered by 10-20 amp batteries that can be recharged quickly, but there are also solar options if you live in a sunny area. It can even be separated into two chunks so you can fold them to fit in the back of a car.
Manufactured in North Carolina, the johanson3 is available in five different models, each catering to different needs (like age and payload) and the speed ranging between 9-50mph. The Junior Cargo Bike is perfect for ages 6-10 and can carry up to 200 pounds, while the Rhino model can handle well over 600 pounds and can actually seat two people in the back.
Prices range from $2,260 to $3,900 depending on which model you choose.
