Before the opening of the highly anticipated cinema musical Wicked starring Emmy, Grammy and Tony-winning powerhouse Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Orlando is offering fans a Wicked immersive experience.
This October, Universal Destinations & Experiences theme parks debut a variety of all-new immersive experiences and exclusive merchandise inspired by Wicked, in theaters November 22, 2024.
Universal Orlando Resort will welcome guests to Wicked: The Experience – housed in the former location of the UNIVRS store and adjacent retail locations steps away from the front gate. Visitors will get to experience stepping into the fantastical Land of Oz.
This exclusive, one-of-a-kind experience transports guests along the yellow brick road into a variety of iconic Wicked locations from Shiz University to the Emerald City.
Fanciful costumes and props created by the designers of the film will be on display. Guests will become immersed in spectacular scenic theme recreations from some of the most memorable moments of the film.
Also in late October, Universal Studios Hollywood will transform its popular Feature Presentation store within the theme park, and UNIVRS store at Universal CityWalk Hollywood into memorable Wicked experiences for fans.
Feature Presentation will showcase props from the film, and some exciting photo opportunities will debut within the theme park. When Wicked opens, costumes will be displayed within the Universal Cinema, an AMC Theatre, at Universal CityWalk.
To continue with the Wicked celebration, guests will get to express their fandom through food, beverages, fashion and accessories while stepping into the story at both theme parks.
Guests dining at both parks will enjoy the Wicked theme choices at Voodoo Doughnuts and over-the-top shakes at The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen at both Universal CityWalk locations.
Back to school clothing and accessories include items from the Shiz University collection. Inspired by the iconic school where Glinda and Elphaba first cross paths, must-haves include Spirit Jerseys, duffle bags, tumblers, hats, journals and more.
Other Wicked items include LEGO sets featuring the Land of Oz, beautiful fashion dolls from Mattel and Funko Pops! of fan-favorite characters. Loungefly bags as well as cosplay and prop replicas from The Noble Collection will also be available.
The legendary Studio MinaLima developed exclusive, Wicked-inspired graphics and prints for a cross-category collection. There is an intricate all-over-print on apparel, accessories, home goods and confections, as well as stationery.
Later this year and early next year there will be even more Wicked celebrations at Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Japan.
