As a well-known name in fashion and celebrity public relations, Kristin Marquet has worked with some of the most interesting fashion brands and media personalities. Now, she has taken that expertise and made the transition to the tech and media industries with the launch of her digital lifestyle newsletter, The LAB Daily, and upcoming magazine launch Lifestyle and Business. We sat down with her in Park Avenue office to find more about her and upcoming projects.
Background: I hold a master's degree in Finance from Boston University, and a master's degree in Public Relations/Marketing from New York University. After I graduated from college, I worked as a PR manager for a law firm for a year, followed by working in consulting for three years. Then the 2008 recession hit, and I lost my position shortly thereafter, so I decided to start my own business - Marquet Media - a PR agency. As the business grew, I switched the name to Creative Development Agency, which is now a full-service PR firm in New York City. We work a wide variety of fashion, wellness/fitness, beauty, and lifestyle brands throughout the world.
What other projects do you have in the pipeline?
Right now, I am expanding my PR agency into a celebrity placement firm as well as offering a number of coaching programs for fashion, beauty, and wellness start ups at LifestyleandBusiness.com.
What are your must haves for travel?
I always travel with yoga attire, a little black dress, comfortable flats, black boots or booties (depending on where I am going) and spiked Louboutins.
How do you unwind?
I like to workout as much as possible, listen to BPM on Sirius, and hang out with my awesome husband, Michael at our beautiful new home.
Where's your favorite place to travel?
Out of all the places I've been in the world, Paris is the second runner up to New York City.
What's this season's splurge?
Good question, possibly a pair of "So Kate" by Louboutin for the spring or the Twist MM by Louis Vuitton or maybe both.
What trips do you have planned for 2016?
My husband and I just got back from Palm Springs and La Jolla. We are headed to Miami in March, and Rome in May. We will see what other trips come up after that.
