Founded in 1924, the Damiani brand excelled in Italian and International markets, becoming an ambassador of Italian style and a synonym of excellence and the best Italian jewelry tradition. Creativity, design and entrepreneurship are the key elements that have driven the Damiani family for nearly a century, together with a deep passion for an art that has passed on from father to son and also been transmitted to the third generation, now the head of the company. Strengthened by an almost centennial tradition, the Damiani Group has always been renowned for the quality of products and materials adopted and the exclusive design of its collections.
To coincide with the luxury jewellery brand's landmark anniversary and the release of its limited edition collection, Michelin-starred chef Pino Lavarra has created a special five-course menu in which each dish is inspired by a selected item of Damiani jewellery.
Damiani’s 90th Anniversary Collection comprises nine pieces, each one representing a different decade from the brand’s history, from the 1920s to the present day. The dinner begins in the 1930s, with Cured Salmon and Beluga and Snail Caviar, whose black and white pearls recall the alternating black and white diamonds of Damiani’s Art Deco-style bracelet, Cascade. Next up is the flower power of the versatile Bloom, a 1970s-inspired headband or bracelet; the black ribbon and bright colours of which are recreated from Squid Ink Fettuccelle, Scallops, Lobster, Zucchini and Tomatoes. Following that, diners can choose between the hard, industrial beauty of the forties with Legend, or the visual stimulation of Optical and the swinging sixties. The former is crafted from Crispy Monkfish with Chickpea Cream Sauce and Fried Sage, while the latter is re-imagined in concentric circles of Stewed Oxtail served on Potato filled with Foie Gras. Dessert comes in the form off an aesthetically impressive Pain d’Epice Parfait with Chocolate Ring Hazelnuts and Five-Spice Sauce that pays homage to the 1980s-influenced Tribute cuff that celebrates everything that was good about the era. Finally, some delicious and delicate petit fours presented in a Damiani jewellery box complete the artistic and culinary experience that will leave you feeling culturally and aesthetically satiated.
Priced at HKD 1,880 ($240) per person, “The Damiani 90th Anniversary Celebration” menu will be available from October 15 – November 30 (except November 6-8) in Tosca at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong.
