For the first time since its construction, the Straffan House, a private residence on the grounds of The K Club, Spa and Country Club will be available for exclusive hire. Sitting on 550 acres of idyllic Irish countryside, the property owned by billionaire Sir Michael Smurfit is an elegant 34,000-square-foot home inspired by the original structure of the same name. Built in 1832, the original resembled a French Chateau and is now being used as the K Club Hotel.
In total, the estate holds ten bedrooms with ensuites and come inclusive of a dedicated team of staff, concierge and private chef. Lavish amenities can be found throughout Straffan and the high ceilings are brilliantly decorated with chandeliers while the walls are lined with original artwork by noted Irish artists Sir. William Orpen and Jack B. Yeats.
Spread over three stories and just 40 minutes outside of Dublin, Straffan offers guests an authentic Irish experience. While staying at the home, a number of activities are available in the countryside, including fishing on the River Liffey, falconry, skeet shooting and horse riding. Golf enthusiasts can also get a few rounds in at the championship Palmer Ryder Cup Course.
