The Sun Chronicle Despite being no more dangerous than any other travel destination, Cancun has acquired some unfortunate media attention with the accidental death of Mark Iaconis, who fell from the second floor of his hotel coming shortly after the deaths of two Mansfield residents after a rogue wave struck late in the evening. While this shouldn't cause alarm for anyone, other than those close to Iaconis, it should stand as a cautionary tale about the value of our lives and our time here.
For the second time this month, a Massachusetts resident has died while vacationing in Cancun.
On Monday, 49-year-old Mark Iaconis fell from his second floor hotel room balcony.
The North Attleboro man suffered head, leg and rib injuries and died at the hospital.
State Police are now investigating and talking with the man’s girlfriend who witnessed the fall.
