A private collector in Brisbane has loaned his impressive movie costumes to the QPAC Museum in Brisbane, Australia, and the free admission exhibition will be on display until April 2013. The exhibit allows guests to learn about and explore the relationship and impact that stage shows and film have on each other.
Nicholas Inglis has always had a love of classic cinema and theatre - a passion that has manifested itself in a large collection of and vintage costumes from some of the most loved screen plays and stage shows.
For the Brisbane-based collector it began innocently, sending off to famous actors and actresses for their autograph, and eventually lead the QPAC usher down a road of late night Ebay auctions to find the original costume pieces from old time cinema classics dating back to the early 1900's.
He says it was an old Christies Auction House brochure that started his collection.
