It has been announced that there has been a $50 million increase in the funding for the Savannah Harbor expansion project bringing the total funding to a grand total of $231 Million. While this does seem like quite the expenditure those backing the project assure that the expansion will decrease shipping costs by $231 annually.
Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal announced that as part of his FY2014 budget proposal, he will seek an additional $50 million in funding for the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project at the Georgia Ports Authority Board meeting.
