Savannah Theatre This past January 18-20, musical performances like no other took place in Savannah. The show is based on The Civil War and the people who lived through it; well, the words of the people who actually lived through the civil war participated and their stories were told through musical interpretation.
The Civil War comes to life through the actual words of people who lived through it in an award-winning musical production at the Savannah Theatre.
“Civil War Voices” will be presented in just four performances Jan. 18-20. The musical is based on letters, memoirs and diaries from the Civil War.
“It’s such a departure for us,” says Michael Meece, producer and director at Savannah Theatre. “We started a few years ago doing things that are different from the rest of the year during January and February, mainly because it’s not a big tourist season and we can cater more toward local audiences.
