Velas Resorts' bijoux property in Puerto Vallarta, brings a dose of boutique luxury to a resort town that often gets short shrift. Consistently rated as one of the top hotels in Mexico, Casa Velas is an intimate, adults-only refuge for those who want to be in the center of the action but not right in the thick of it. The property recently debuted a million-dollar renovation of its spacious suites in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
As part of the renovation a total of 38 suites underwent complete bathroom upgrades, including new Italian marble countertops, glass showers and double sinks. The suites also received new furnishings and finishes in the living and bedroom areas including terracotta floors, expansive walk-in closets and wet bars.
Grand Class Suites also now include private Jacuzzis. Its most impressive residence, the Presidential Suite is a coveted retreat that needs to be booked well in advance. It is four master suites combined into one lavish accommodation. The suite features a full bar in the living area and guests are treated to an in-suite private dinner upon arrival. Each traveler also receives a spa experience that includes a ritual for the feet, a hydrotherapy treatment with rose petals and lavender salts, and a 25 minute back massage. Topping it off is a complimentary round of golf.
To complement the renovations the property also launched six new, five-course gourmet tasting menus at Emiliano. The offerings were created and overseen by head chefs from its sister resort the AAA five diamond Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. Casa Velas is a perfect, tranquil escape into what feels like a posh private residence with an attentive staff at your beck and call.
