Thanks to a multi-million dollar renovation, The Royal Hawaiian is setting new standards of luxury on the beautiful beaches of Waikiki on the island of Oahu. No longer just "The Pink Palace" The Royal Hawaiian is now a modern resort, with chic décor and unparalleled service.
As a landmark Luxury Collection Resort, commonly called the "Pink Palace of the Pacific," The Royal Hawaiian sits on the most prized part of the Waikiki beachfront. The property offers gold standard concierge service as well as doctors-on-call, florist, currency exchange service, Japanese, Chinese and German concierge, laundry and dry cleaning; world-class restaurants and bars, wireless Internet access in rooms and all public areas, bilingual staff, 24-hour room service, business center, and beach and pool services. No wonder The Royal Hawaiian has hosted international royalty, Hollywood elite and heads of state.
In 2010, massive renovations were completed, giving way to 528 rooms, including 34 suites of which 18 are oceanfront, 66,000 square feet of outdoor function space, 2,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, two pools, a private beachfront, fine dining, traditional Hawaiian entertainment and a full-service spa and salon.
Setting the stage for fine dining in Hawaii, The Royal Hawaiian offers Azure, a world-class seafood restaurant and Mai Tai Bar, where guests can mingle with fellow jetsetters while having a cocktail and looking out onto Waikiki beach. Surf Lanai, the hotel's beach side, al fresco restaurant, serves breakfast and lunch amidst signature pink florals and breathtaking views of Diamond Head.
For a taste of Hawaiian culture, a Royal Hawaiian Lu'au is held every Monday night, giving guests a chance to go back in time to Hawaii's rich history. The dinner show commemorates Hawaiian culture by beginning with traditional activities like kapa-making (cloth made of pounded bark), poi-pounding, and na lawai’a (tending of fishing tools). This is followed by dinner and entertainment and culminates with a hula song and dance.
