The fifth annual Art Stage Singapore has been announced and will be returning to the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center from January 22-25, 2015. Galleries from over 29 countries will be exhibiting their visual contemporary art at the event which will include paintings, sculptures, installations and videos. Referred to as the “flagship art fair of Southeast Asia,” the event is poised at the beginning of the arts calendar and is a mainstay of the Asian art community. While the exhibit welcomes artists and galleries from across the globe, about 70 percent of the exhibitors are from Asian galleries as opposed to only about a third coming from their western counterparts.
“Art Stage Singapore is Southeast Asia’s flagship contemporary art fair where the world comes to Singapore to discover art and artists from the entire Asia. As Asia’s most innovative fair, Art Stage Singapore continues to have a focus on Southeast Asia, presenting the region’s energy and dynamic creativity. We are delighted that our initiatives have drawn international attention to contemporary art from Southeast Asia and that Art Stage Singapore has become the most vibrant meeting point not only for buyers and sellers, but especially also for artists and curators,” said Lorenzo Rudolf (seen on the left), Founder and Fair Director, Art Stage Singapore.
Art Stage Singapore was designed as a way to bring the Asian art community together and connect it into one seamless region, drawing in notable names and newcomers alike. In addition to artists, collectors and aficionados, guests will include European and American museum directors and curators from institutions such as MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt, Freer and Sackler Galleries of Art at the Smithsonian in Washington DC and Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Tickets are priced from $10-$64.
