If you’re looking for a little downtown San Diego action this weekend, the Gaslamp district’s newest nightlife venue will be opening its doors Saturday. Cake Nightclub has already made a name for itself in Scottsdale, and now it’s ready to take over San Diego with its “French chateau meets Alice in Wonderland” style.
“Being able to contribute to San Diego’s thriving hospitality scene has been an amazing opportunity," says co-founder of EDL Amrou Manaseer. "We believe in this already great city’s potential on becoming California’s premier nightlife destination and we hope that we can find our place amongst these amazing venues to help increase the exposure for San Diego.”
The two-floor, 6,000-square-foot club has moved into the space previously inhabited by Voyeur and will feature “antiqued whitewashed wood, crystal gold chandeliers and hand-tooled leather banquets” across the main room and mezzanine. According to Cake, the DJ booth will have a 30-foot translucent LCD display (which is the first of its kind anywhere) that will be synced with screens all over the venue. Beats will play over a custom Funktion One sound system that was designed by Dan Agne and Sound Investments and bottle service will be offered by their signature Cake Dolls: scantily-clad women meant to reflect the city’s most beautiful.
Cake Nightclub San Diego will be open Friday-Saturday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
