This June, Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar San Diego will reveal the new Skyline Guestrooms, a 50-room collection of renovated suites on the top floors of the downtown property. The two-month redesign began in February of this year, with the intention of creating a line of luxury spaces inspired by the beauty and attitude of Southern California. Offering some of the best views of the area, the new top floors will consist of 30 guestrooms, 12 junior suites, six suites and two penthouses—all with surf-inspired, modern motifs.
To blend the laid-back, California lifestyle with a chic, modern aesthetic, designers used contemporary furniture with accents in sea greens, blues, greys and sand tones. Surfboard-inspired headboards and wing-back chairs add to the beach motif.
“As one of the top U.S. travel destinations, San Diego is known for its spectacular beaches, year-long sunshine and a vibrant outdoor lifestyle,” said Jim Hollister, general manager of Hotel Palomar San Diego. “Our goal is to create that quintessential blend of urban sophistication and outdoor living and offer guests a truly authentic local experience, from top to bottom. Not only will the new collection capture the Southern California spirit through its design and fantastic views, but we plan to infuse San Diego into all of our programming and packages to ensure every guest has a memorable journey.”
While the new Skyline Guestrooms are not yet finished, Hotel Palomar is now taking reservations for stays beginning this June.
