With an eclectic mix of urban flavor, local watering holes and neighborhood hipsters, San Diego’s street scene just got a little cooler with the arrival of FOX & JANE. Located on 5th Avenue, in the ever-trendy neighborhood of Banker’s Hill, FOX & JANE Salon dishes up more than just fabulous cuts and color.
Following the success of last year’s New York grand opening, the unassuming salon and finishing bar brings the sophisticated style of NYC to San Diego’s Uptown area.
The brainchild of Billy Canu and Lorean Cairns, FOX & JANE Salon was desinged with the intent of creating a social, laid-back vibe, staffed by stylists who create memorable experiences and exceptional looks, according to co-owner Billy Canu.
"I joined forces with lead stylist and co-owner, Lorean Cairns, with the ultimate goal of transforming the traditional hair salon experience into something that would entice and entertain," said Canu.
"Our creation – a chic, urban environment reminiscent of London’s neighborhood pubs where everyone is welcome and great conversation abounds."
Having heard fabulous reports of The Finishing Bar by FOX & JANE Salon in NYC, I just had to see for myself if the new San Diego salon really lived up to the hype. Even if the new location was only half as good as its trendy Lower East Side sister, I figured an afternoon of sipping wine and gabbing amongst new friends is always a day well spent.
Fortunately for me — and my unruly mane — my expectations were met thanks to Lynnzee Valero, a stylist with more than eight years of experience. Lynnzee gave new life to my tired locks by kicking up my color and masterfully creating flirty new layers.
Welcome to the neighborhood, FOX & JANE.
