Orlando is about to get another theme park. No, it’s not a third Harry Potter land (though we wouldn’t object), it’s I-Drive 360, the new entertainment destination that houses the 400-foot Orlando Eye. A combination theme park/boardwalk, the $200 million complex will be home to museums, an aquarium, restaurants, shops, clubs, shows and attractions. Opening May 4, I-Drive is located on International Drive, right in the middle of Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld.
If you're visiting nearby theme parks, take a family detour to Sea Life Aquarium, an oceanic environment containing over 5,000 sea creatures; Skeletons: Animals Unveiled, an interactive museum filled with over 300 real human and animal bones; or enjoy seeing all of the city at the top of the Orlando Eye. (Points to whoever can spot Cinderella’s castle first!) Parents can unwind at classic spots like Yard House which features one of the largest collections of craft beers on tap in Orlando, or let loose at Cowgirls Rockbar featuring the city's only mechanical bull.
I-Drive will also host private events, allowing you to rent out the Orlando Eye as well as a garden or reception area for any party, gala or business meeting you might have planned. While the destination won’t officially be open until May 4, a few stores and restaurants are already available to the public. But most attractions, including the new Orlando Eye, will be closed until next month.
