It seems that a Florida family vacation is in order since the Four Seasons Resort Orlando Walt Disney World® Resort is set to open up later this summer. Close to Orlando’s major amusement parks — Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® — the brand’s new hotel will be as luxurious as it is family-friendly.
Fine dining, a lavish spa, spacious accommodations, golf, tennis and basketball, the hotel will be a grown-up’s playground (that can be enjoyed when not at the parks). Here are a few more highlights:
Accommodations: There will be 444 guestrooms but the coolest room, the Royal Suite, sits on the 16th floor and can be transformed into nine-bedrooms when the three separate living rooms are configured. Be sure to book a room facing the Magic Kingdom® Park so you can view the nightly fireworks.
Spa: Because it’s a Four Seasons, there’s no doubt the spa will be an opulent retreat that will be great after standing in long lines all day. Decorated with the feel and aesthetics of the Everglades, it will feature 18 treatment rooms, one salon and two couple’s rooms.
Golf: Newly renovated, the Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course runs through the certified Audubon Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuary. If rolling hills and lush green backdrops are your kind of thing, then this is one course you’ll have to try out.
Dining: A personal favorite part of any resort, Capa restaurant will be a contemporary Spanish steakhouse on the 17th floor. Their menu will be filled with diverse offerings like expertly grilled cuts, tapas, Florida seafood and all prepared in an open kitchen. Ravello and PB+G will also join the hotel for dining choices.
Family Activities: Sure, amusement parks galore are right outside your door, but if you’re in the mood to stay put, check out Explorer Island. The five-acre playground allows you to experience the warm sunshine at a 7,590-square-foot family pool with a lazy river or try your luck at the basketball and volleyball courts for a good workout. If you’re feeling adventurous, head to The Mansion and slide down the 242-foot waterslide.
Adults-Only: The Oasis pool is the perfect place to lounge about with cocktails in hand and work on your tan.
As a guest, you will have access to many special Walt Disney World® offerings such as on-site Disney Character Breakfasts and helpful itineraries for navigating the parks. Since the hotel is already accepting reservations for arrivals beginning in August 2014, you can start planning your trip now and surprise the family with a trip to look forward to this summer.
